It's an election year, and it has coincided with HTMail launching our new Opinion Poll and Survey service. The new service allows you to quickly and simply build a survey or poll, and then present it to your chosen audience. Well, as it is an election year, we have tested it by running an opinion poll on the election!
We asked:
- Who do you normally vote for
- Who do you think would make the best prime minister for the UK
- Which party do you intend to vote for
- Who do you rate as the best leader of the Conservative party - David Cameron or Margaret Thatcher
- Who do you rate as the best leader of the Labour party - Gordon Brown or Tony Blair
- Who do you rate as the best leader of the Liberal Democrat party - Nick Clegg or Paddy Ashdown
- Did you watch the first leaders debate
- Who do you think won the first debate
- Do you believe that BBC, ITV, Channel 4 or Sky News programs are biased towards the election
- Is our current political system fair
- What would you prefer to see: Conservative/Labour/Liberal Democrat majority government or a hung parliament
- If there is a hung parliament would you prefer to see a Lib/Lab pact or a Lib/Cons pact
The results have been somewhat surprising in comparison to some polls from other polling organisations, and have backed up the results of others.

Nick Clegg 32.5%
Gordon Brown 20.9%

We are making all of the results available online, and you can download the full spreadsheet in Excel format here.
