Here is what to do if you have problems with the url's (page addresses) in your email ads from HTMail:

Firstly, check if your browser is set to run, or capable of running javascript. You can use our links without it, but it is much easier with.

If you are an AOL user, look for the link marked 'AOL members click here' or just 'Click here', and try that one.

Otherwise:

1. If you have received an onscreen message that your codes or email address were incorrect after clicking on a 'Close Window' button, see the 'Known Bugs' section below.
2. If your browser will not load the page when you click on the link in the email:

   The link will look something like this:

   http://www.htmail.com/code/1897_0.html?start%40htmail.com

   <---- Page Address ------------------> <-- your email address -->

   Your registered email address is included as part of the url, and should automatically be inserted in the pop up feedback form when you click on the link. This has been done to try and ensure that members do not lose credit by entering their email address incorrectly. The '%40' is replaced with the '@' sign when read by the feedback form. This is done because some browsers will not accept an '@' symbol in the url address.

   1. Try copying the whole link from your email ad into your browsers address box (you will need to press return to force the browser to go to that address). It may be that while your email software cannot handle the email address part of the url, your browser will be able to.
   2. If this fails, try just copying the 'page address' part of the url (up to, but not including the question mark and your email address) into your browser address box.
   3. Your email ad will also have a url marked as the one below:

      PROBLEMS? Try this url: http://www.htmail.com/code/1925_0.html

      ...try that link.

   If none of these allow you to reach the page, you will need to contact us again, stating exactly what you did, and what happened each time.
3. When you click on the link in the email, your browser should load a 'forwarding page'. The forwarding page should automatically load the advertisers page within 5-15 seconds. It should also pop up a feedback page with your email address already in place. Take a look at the advertisers site. You can then enter any feedback that you wish to provide, and return your codes for credit by submitting the form. After doing so, you will be given an option to close the pop-up window.

   The pop-up feedback form, and the insertion of your email address in that form rely on javascript. If your browser doe not offer javascript, or you have the option turned off, these may not work.

   IF the advertisers page does not appear, please try clicking the link on the forwarding page. Similarily, if your pop-up feedback page does not appear, use the link provided on the forwarding page (you may need to use the back arrow on your browser to get back to the page).

If you use the link on the forwarding page to go to the feedback page, when you return your codes, the code return is confirmed on screen and you are given the option to close the window. If you do so, Windows may ask if you wish to close the window. If you select 'No', you are returned to the browser, but an error message saying that your codes or email address were incorrect will appear. Please ignore this message. It occurs simply because you returned to the page in an inappropriate manner (i.e. not by submitting a form), so the page had no data to process.
